Kanto S4 Angled Desktop Speaker Stands for Midsize Speakers (Pair) at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The S4 is a pair of angled desktop speaker stands from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Built for mid-sized desktop speakers in the 3- to 5-inch driver class, the S4 stands feature a 16-degree upward tilt to direct sound toward seated ear level, a dual-orientation flip design that offers two height options without additional hardware, and rubber padding on both top and bottom surfaces to minimize vibration transfer and protect desk finishes. Compatible with popular models including the Kanto YU4, Audioengine A2+, and similarly sized powered desktop speakers, the S4 is purpose-built for music production workstations, streaming setups, and compact home studio environments.

16-Degree Tilt and Dual-Orientation Design

Proper speaker-to-ear alignment is the single most impactful adjustment available to desktop listeners, and the Kanto S4 delivers it through two complementary mechanisms. The fixed 16-degree upward tilt redirects the tweeter axis from a flat horizontal plane to a path that converges at ear height for a typical seated listener at 50 to 80 cm from the speaker. This angle restores the on-axis frequency response that speaker manufacturers measure and optimize in their design process, meaning listeners hear the speaker performing as intended rather than through an off-axis filter that softens high frequencies and blurs stereo imaging. The dual-orientation flip design adds a second height option: rotating the stands 180 degrees raises the speaker platform, accommodating listeners with taller desktop surfaces, monitor risers, or elevated seating positions. Both orientations maintain the same 16-degree tilt, so sound accuracy is preserved regardless of which height setting is used.

Steel Construction with Rubber Vibration Isolation

The S4 stands are fabricated from solid steel with a matte black finish, providing a rigid, non-resonant platform that supports up to 8 lbs (3.6 kg) per stand. At this weight capacity, the S4 comfortably handles the full range of mid-sized powered desktop speakers without flex or instability. Rubber padding bonded to both the top surface and the bottom feet serves a dual function: on top, it grips the speaker cabinet to prevent lateral shifting during dynamic bass transients; on the bottom, it decouples the stand from the desk surface to interrupt the mechanical path through which speaker vibration travels into the furniture. This reduces the sympathetic resonance that causes desks to act as unintended resonators, keeping the low end clean and the midrange free from coloration introduced by the surface below.

Key Features

  • 16-Degree Upward Tilt: Redirects mid-sized desktop speakers toward seated ear level, restoring on-axis treble response and improving stereo imaging precision at typical near-field listening distances.
  • Dual-Orientation Flip Design: Stands can be used in standard or inverted orientation to provide two distinct height options, accommodating different desk heights and seated listening positions without any additional hardware.
  • Solid Steel Construction: High-gauge steel with a matte black finish delivers structural rigidity and a neutral acoustic platform that does not contribute coloration or resonance to the speaker's output.
  • Rubber Vibration Isolation Pads: Rubber padding on the top and bottom of each stand prevents the speaker from sliding, protects desk surfaces from scratching, and reduces mechanical vibration transfer between the speaker cabinet and the furniture.
  • 8 lb Per-Stand Weight Capacity: Each stand supports up to 8 lbs (3.6 kg), covering the full weight range of mid-sized powered desktop speakers in the 3- to 5-inch class.
  • Compact Footprint: At approximately 13 x 18 x 5 cm per stand, the S4 occupies minimal desk real estate while delivering meaningful acoustic and ergonomic improvements.
  • Sold as a Pair: Two stands are included per box, providing matched tilt and height for both left and right speakers in a stereo desktop configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kanto S4?

The Kanto S4 is a pair of angled desktop speaker stands from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), designed for mid-sized powered speakers in the 3- to 5-inch driver class. Each stand tilts at 16 degrees upward, supports up to 8 lbs, and features a dual-orientation flip design that provides two height settings. Rubber pads on the top and bottom surfaces reduce vibration transfer and prevent slipping on desk surfaces.

How does the Kanto S4 compare to the Kanto S6 or Audioengine DS1 desktop stands?

The Kanto S4 is designed for mid-sized speakers up to 8 lbs per stand, whereas the Kanto S6 is built for larger 4- to 7-inch speakers with a heavier 20 lb per-stand capacity and adds a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting screw for locking the speaker in place. The Audioengine DS1 stands offer a similar tilt-riser concept but are sized specifically for the Audioengine A2 and A5+ and lack the dual-orientation height adjustment found on the S4. For users with Kanto YU4 or Audioengine A2+ speakers who want height flexibility without oversized stands, the S4 is the more appropriate choice.

Can the Kanto S4 be used with the Audioengine A2+ or other non-Kanto speakers?

Yes, the Kanto S4 is fully compatible with any mid-sized desktop speaker that fits within the 8 lb (3.6 kg) per-stand weight limit and sits stably on the 13 x 18 cm top surface. The Audioengine A2+, Yamaha HS3, and similarly sized powered monitors are all suitable candidates. The rubber top pad provides grip across a range of cabinet base dimensions without requiring any mounting hardware.

What does the dual-orientation flip design mean?

The dual-orientation flip design means each S4 stand can be placed in either its standard position or rotated 180 degrees to raise the speaker platform to a greater height. This gives users two distinct elevation options from a single stand without buying additional risers or accessories. Both orientations maintain the 16-degree upward tilt angle, so on-axis sound accuracy is preserved at whichever height best aligns the tweeter with the listener's ear.

Do the Kanto S4 stands reduce desk vibration and resonance?

Yes, the S4 stands use rubber pads bonded to both the top and bottom surfaces to decouple the speaker from the stand and the stand from the desk. This dual-point isolation interrupts the mechanical coupling that allows low-frequency energy from the speaker cabinet to excite the desk surface, reducing the sympathetic vibration and coloration that can muddy bass response and midrange clarity in near-field desktop listening environments.

Where can I buy the Kanto S4 in Toronto or Canada?

The Kanto S4 desktop speaker stands are available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound is an authorized Kanto dealer stocking the complete Kanto stand range alongside powered speakers, turntables, and audio accessories. The S4 can be ordered online through the Vinyl Sound Canada website with shipping available nationwide across Canada.

Are the Kanto S4 stands suitable for a home studio or music production setup?

Yes, the Kanto S4 stands are well suited to home studio and music production environments where near-field monitor placement and accurate imaging are priorities. The 16-degree tilt corrects the common problem of desktop monitors firing below ear level, which causes high-frequency rolloff at the mix position and leads to inaccurate tonal balance decisions. The rubber isolation pads further reduce desk resonance that can color the low end and obscure fine detail in recorded material.

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.

Interesting
Format: Kindle
So I will say I enjoyed the story, for sure had its moments where it dragged but it was a great story. I really liked that omegas picked their alphas/make the pack. Normally the Alphas make it and the omega fits in with them which is great but I enjoyed this new version where all the power basically went to the omega. It was a nice change of pace. I can admit some of the weird bedroom stuff with her being pregnant was odd, it’s really not hard to do stuff when pregnant (I know I’ve had two and it’s normal and even encouraged at the end especially if you want the baby out). But I like the story as a whole and will read the second, I do hope the next one isn’t dragged bc it stopped being action or tense after she met her alphas and I don’t think it was brought up or properly done when they tried to do it. More sweet after she left.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.
