PSB SubSeries BP7 Powered Subwoofer at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The SubSeries BP7 is a compact powered subwoofer from PSB Speakers (Pickering, Ontario, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Built on more than 50 years of Canadian acoustic innovation, the BP7 combines a bipolar driver array, sealed cabinet, and 350-watt Universal Class D amplifier to deliver deep, distortion-free bass in a footprint of under one cubic foot. With a claimed frequency response of 28 Hz to 150 Hz (±3 dB) and an LF cutoff of 25 Hz (-10 dB), the BP7 is engineered for accuracy, control, and musical clarity in both home theatre and two-channel hi-fi systems. Available in Satin Black or Satin White with polished aluminium trim, the BP7 is designed to integrate seamlessly into any living space.

Bipolar Driver Array: Force-Cancelling Bass Technology

The BP7 features two opposing 6.5-inch woven carbon-fibre woofers mounted in a bipolar configuration. By positioning the drivers in opposition, the design uses force cancellation to naturally minimize cabinet vibration and distortion. Each custom driver is built with a high-density filleted rubber surround, a 1.5-inch voice coil, and an oversized 36-ounce magnet mounted in a steel basket. This push-pull arrangement converts amplifier power directly into clean, controlled motion, producing bass that is fast, articulate, and free from the boom and rattle that can accompany less refined designs. The result is low-frequency reproduction that tracks kick drums and bass guitar lines with convincing accuracy, while still delivering the physical impact that makes home theatre genuinely thrilling.

Sealed Cabinet and Texas Instruments UCD Amplification

The BP7 uses a sealed, portless cabinet to eliminate the port noise and resonances that can colour the output of vented subwoofer designs. A sealed alignment delivers smoother, more predictable in-room behaviour and greater placement flexibility, whether the BP7 sits in a living room corner, beside a media unit, or under a side table. Driving the dual-driver array is a 350-watt Texas Instruments Universal Class D (UCD) amplifier, tuned by an Analog Devices DSP for precise control across the full operating range. This amplifier topology provides effortless dynamic headroom for demanding transient peaks while staying tightly controlled during quieter passages, making the BP7 equally at home during a late-night listening session and a full-volume cinema night.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the PSB SubSeries BP7?

The PSB SubSeries BP7 is a compact powered subwoofer from PSB Speakers, designed and engineered in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. It features dual 6.5-inch woven carbon-fibre drivers in a bipolar configuration, a sealed cabinet, and a 350-watt Texas Instruments Universal Class D amplifier, with a frequency response of 28 Hz to 150 Hz (±3 dB). The BP7 is built for listeners who need accurate, musical bass in smaller spaces without sacrificing performance.

What is a bipolar driver configuration and why does it matter?

A bipolar driver configuration places two woofers in direct opposition inside a single cabinet, mounted so they fire in opposite directions. When the drivers move simultaneously, the opposing forces cancel each other out, reducing cabinet vibration and mechanical distortion. In the BP7, this arrangement means the two 6.5-inch woven carbon-fibre woofers work together to convert amplifier power into clean, controlled bass motion rather than wasting energy shaking the enclosure itself. The practical result is bass that is faster, more accurate, and lower in colouration than a comparable single-driver design of the same cabinet volume.

How does the PSB SubSeries BP7 compare to the KEF KC62?

The PSB SubSeries BP7 and the KEF KC62 are both compact sealed subwoofers using dual opposed 6.5-inch drivers, making them direct rivals in the premium micro-subwoofer category. The KEF KC62 uses a higher-rated 1,000-watt amplifier and its curved extruded aluminium cabinet allows it to claim deeper extension at reduced volumes, but it carries a significantly higher price. The BP7 uses a 350-watt Texas Instruments UCD amplifier with Analog Devices DSP, reaches 28 Hz (±3 dB), and offers a competitive frequency range in a similarly compact footprint. Listeners who prioritise clean, accurate, musical bass and value for performance in smaller rooms will find the BP7 a compelling option alongside the KC62, SVS SB-1000 Pro, and ELAC Debut S10EQ.

Can the PSB SubSeries BP7 integrate with a stereo hi-fi system?

Yes, the BP7 integrates directly with stereo hi-fi systems through its stereo line-level RCA inputs. The variable crossover, adjustable from 50 Hz to 150 Hz, allows the BP7 to take over low-frequency duties cleanly from virtually any pair of bookshelf or compact floor-standing speakers. The phase switch (0 to 180°) enables precise time alignment between the subwoofer and main speakers at the listening position. The 12V trigger input synchronises power-on and standby with the main amplifier, making the BP7 a natural partner for integrated amplifiers and AV receivers alike.

Why choose a sealed subwoofer like the BP7 over a ported design?

A sealed subwoofer like the BP7 delivers a smoother, more predictable bass rolloff than ported designs and produces no port noise or chuffing at higher output levels. Sealed enclosures also tend to integrate more naturally with main speakers across a wider range of placement positions, making them particularly well suited to living rooms and multipurpose spaces where optimal subwoofer placement is not always possible. PSB's sealed cabinet in the BP7 ensures consistent, accurate performance whether the unit is placed in a corner, along a wall, or under a side table.

Is the PSB SubSeries BP7 suitable for home theatre use?

Yes, the BP7 is built for both home theatre and two-channel music applications. Its 350-watt UCD amplifier provides the dynamic headroom needed to handle cinematic bass transients accurately, and the sealed cabinet ensures that bass remains tight and defined during action sequences rather than blooming or lagging behind the on-screen action. The 12V trigger input simplifies integration with AV receivers, and the variable crossover allows precise blending with any main speaker system from compact bookshelves to full-range towers.

Gentle Moisturizing Toner
Scent: Original, Size: 12 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I rely on bed baths for staying clean, due to severe physical disability. This product is a mainstay in my grooming routine. I use it on my face and all over my body. It is very gentle and provides moisturization, as well. The scent is quite subtle, and does not bother my chemical sensitivities.

Literally One and Done
Size: 30 Count (Pack of 1)
These Pacifica makeup wipes are easily the best I've tried. The material has incredible grip—it lifts off every trace of makeup (even stubborn waterproof eye makeup) without scrubbing or tugging. One wipe is genuinely all you need; it unfolds to a nice, generous size. They smell pleasant and leave my skin feeling clean and cared for. If you're looking for effective, skin-friendly wipes that get the job done in one go, these are fantastic. Highly recommend!

Great makeup wipes by Pacifica. Second time ordering! 💗💗
Size: 30 Count (Pack of 1), Size: 30 Count (Pack of 1)
**Updated review, 9/23/2025** I love this brand so much, and this is now my second time using these Pacifica Beauty Makeup Remover Wipes. I love how these make my skin look, as well as their ability to remove makeup and other impurities on my skin. These wipes used to come with a plastic-type flip-top (which made them easy to dispense). The new format is still easy to dispense; however, there is less plastic, which is fine by me (less waste). The wipes pop-up just fine, and I have no issues with getting one wipe out at a time. These are lightly scented orange and vanilla, which is a pleasant scent to me. Each wipe is a decent size, and I can use one wipe and get a lot done- with them being soft and a nice thickness. I also appreciate the texture of these wipes, as they have the ability to remove makeup very well. Even my mascara comes off easily, and without having to use a lot of wipes. I tried to show the size (and texture) in my photo; these wipes are a perfect size, and capable of getting a lot done with just one! The best part (in my opinion), is how beautiful and glowy these wipes make my skin look. The added glycolic acid really gives my skin a radiant glow, and I'm in love with how pretty my skin looks after using. I also like these for a quick refreshment; the wipes smell so pleasant and clean. Pacifica uses simple and clean ingredients, and are also vegan & cruelty-free; these work well, and I think they're s great value for a pack of 30. I absolutely these makeup wipes, and they're a great part of my skincare routine. These exceeded my expectations, and are now my favorite brand of facial/makeup wipes. I would definitely order these again, and already have! These are a great product to have on hand, and I adore them! ✨️
