Frequently Asked Questions
How is FKM different from silicone?
FKM (fluoroelastomer) is a higher-grade synthetic rubber used in racing, aerospace, and industrial seals. Compared to silicone, it has better resistance to oils, chemicals, and UV — it doesn't get sticky in heat or chalky over time. The microtexture finish also feels noticeably more refined on the skin.
Sport Band, Stratos, or Titanium — which should I get?
Sport Band: lightest, fully waterproof, vented — the right choice for workouts, swims, and high-sweat use. Stratos: hybrid titanium-plus-rubber, sportier than Titanium but more refined than Sport Band, water-friendly. Titanium: classic metal-link look, formal-friendly, lightest of the metal options. Pick based on how you actually use the watch.
How does the closure stay secure during workouts?
The aluminium pin passes through one of the band's adjustment holes, then the tail tucks into a retention loop on the inside. Two-stage retention — the band can't slide loose unless you intentionally untuck and unpin it. It survives running, rowing, lifting, and swimming without a slip.
Can I wear it in saltwater and chlorine?
Yes — fully. FKM rubber resists saltwater corrosion and chlorine without degrading. The aluminium pin is anodised and rinses clean. A freshwater rinse after pool or ocean use extends band life but isn't required.
How do I size it correctly?
Wrap the band around your wrist, push the pin through the hole that gives a snug-but-comfortable fit, then tuck the tail. The full-length adjustment holes give you near-infinite sizing precision — most users find their sweet spot within the first few wears.

Great Watch with Great Sapphire Crystal

Waited 2.5 years before reviewing. I love the gunmetal grey case, olive dial, and the exceptional sapphire crystal. The watch is still running great. During cold weather when wearing long sleeves, I make sure I charge the watch monthly by placing it under a table lamp for many hours because it died once due to no daylight charging. One problem is being able to see the minute markings. (The same watch with blue dial is much easier to read.) I also replaced the military-style band immediately with the excellent Archer 20mm Olive band (ARC-QRN-OLV20) and Archer 20mm Matte Gunmetal buckle ( ARC-BKL-GRYM20). I am only allowed to review once for this Timex model, so adding comments about the "Blue" version (TW2V03600JR). The blue version is the same watch but easier to view. It looks GREAT with the Archer 20mm Navy Blue band (ARC-QRN-NVY20).

I design flaw caused me to return it.
Color: Brown/Blue
Pros:
- Perfect case size.
- Sapphire crystal.
- Solar powered quartz.
- Large dial face
- Minute and second hands reach to minute track for precise reading.
- Great field watch design and proportions.
- Effective lume on hands.
Cons:
- Lume on small triangular hour markers is useless, and fades quickly.
- The hour numbers are not luminous.
- The dull peach color chosen for the hour markers, numbers and hands in dim lighting is very dull and thus hard to read.
- The dark blue color chosen for the dial is a dull hue that doesn’t really look blue, but just reduces the contrast between text and markers.
- A black dial and bright white markers and numbers would make the watch much more legible/ readable, and would look much better aesthetically. It is a shame that these choices were made on an otherwise perfect design.
- I was really excited that Timex finally seemed to get it when they came out with this series of models, but then they handicapped it with a dial that is only useable in bright light. What a shame.
I am returning the watch.
