Are you struggling with client fatigue during long grooming sessions or finding your current furniture lacks the structural integrity for high-traffic use? A chair that wobbles or fails to recline smoothly doesn't just disrupt your precision; it diminishes the premium experience your clients expect. For the professional barber, poor ergonomics leads to physical strain, while outdated aesthetics can hinder your shop's brand authority and ROI.

The Karma Mackay Barber Chair is a heavy-duty reclining barber chair designed to provide vintage gold-and-black aesthetics with modern hydraulic performance for professional grooming and styling.

Timeless Luxury Meets Modern Performance

  • Vintage Tufted Design: Featuring a rounded, tufted backrest and matte black leatherette, this chair provides a sophisticated, old-world charm that anchors any high-end barbershop.
  • Heavy-Duty Hydraulic System: The solid hydraulic base and reinforced steel frame ensure rock-solid stability for clients of all sizes, allowing for effortless 360-degree swivel with a secure locking mechanism.
  • Superior Client Comfort: Thick, high-density foam padding on the seat, backrest, and padded calf support ensures clients remain naturally relaxed during extended sessions.
  • Versatile Reclining Mechanism: A smooth-action recline combined with a removable, adjustable headrest provides the perfect angle for precision shaves, beard trims, or facial treatments.
  • Padded Calf & Foot Support: The built-in footrest and integrated calf rest provide full-body support, preventing client restlessness mid-service.

The Professional Edge: Pro-Tips & Experience

As a therapist and stylist, I know that the "feel" of a chair is just as important as its look. The Mackay’s matte black upholstery has a premium, supple texture that doesn't feel sticky in humid conditions, and the gold finish is high-lustre without being prone to chipping. To maintain the medical-grade hygiene of the seat, we recommend wiping the leatherette daily with a non-alcohol based antimicrobial spray to prevent cracking and maintain the deep black finish. The 360-degree swivel is incredibly fluid; I recommend locking the base only once you’ve found the optimal light source for your work. This chair is a significant upgrade for shops looking to pair grooming with aesthetic services like a Vitamin Lashbrow treatment or skin prep using an Inspiration Balm, where stability and comfort are non-negotiable. Using the right Lami Tool requires a steady hand, and the Mackay’s rigid dual-pillar support ensures there is zero vibration when you are performing close-up work.

Format: Kindle
This comic is just... wow. There just isn't anything bad about it except that the rest of the series is hard to find on Amazon. For now at least...

Solid "Star Wars"-ing.
Format: Paperback
“Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku” is a three-part, 12-issue comic series, comprised of a trio of individual miniseries that form one collective trilogy-of-sorts, and details the war between New Republic/Imperial forces in the weeks and months following the events of “Return of the Jedi.” Writer Alex Segura – who previously penned the underrated "Free Fall" – does a good job of telling a single, satisfying story that ALSO tees up his upcoming relaunch of the mainline “Star Wars” series in May. What also makes “The Battle of Jakku” a pleasure to read – particularly if you’re a diehard “Star Wars” fan - are the various Easter eggs and cross-franchise connections it makes to other entries in the series, including “Battlefront II,” Greg Rucka’s "Shattered Empire," and even Chuck Wendig's “Aftermath” trilogy. Watching this specific era of the “Star Wars” timeline be filled out and expanded within the larger media has been one of the more satisfying and consistently enjoyable aspects of the “Star Wars” property these last 10 years, and Segura – as is his want – does yeoman’s work in effectively putting a final bow on it. All in all, pretty darn good “Star Wars”-ing.

All this talk of Jakku and not a single worthwhile image of it.
Format: Paperback
This was a total disorganized mess that bears no resemblance to Star Wars at all. The art is puerile at best and some characters bear a passing resemblance to Luke and Leia. The dialogue is nonsense and reads nothing like the characters would speak. The plot is a ridiculous compilation of double crosses that make no sense at all. The Imperials don’t act like Imperials and the endless plethora of new characters and planets make for an exhausting and tedious read. Finally, the story doesn’t really mesh with that other ridiculous trilogy of books by Chuck Wendig. Real Star Wars writers were needed like James Luceno or Timothy Zahn. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. Life is short. Stick to writers with a proven track record and stories that reflect Lucas’ vision not the Disney disorder. Oh for the days when Dark Horse told exciting tales and had great artists. Marvel seems to be just interested in squeezing money out of the name and not creating a meaningful legacy.

Absolute Slop
Format: Paperback
This is likely the worst Star Wars graphic novel/story in the history of the medium. Absolute slop.
