Fantastic vintage Christian Dior jacket, from Spring/Summer 2005, by John Galliano. This exquisite piece is Galliano's take on the iconic Bar Jacket for that season, a cherished and celebrated design that has become a tradition to include every season since Monsieur Dior first created it back in the 1940s. Nearly retaining the original, tailored/fitted silhouette, Galliano then incorporated one of his celebrated design trademarks- the 'disappearing lapel' he has been utilizing since his early design days. and most notably, in his eponymous label's S/S 1995 'Misia Diva' collection. This medium-weight woven canvas jacket features a tonal Dior Oblique (otherwise known as the Trotter) monogram jacquard throughout. This striking piece has a fitted bodice, nipped waist, with a structured, flared peplum style bottom that has a padded hip at the front side. Silver tone Dior branded buttons and rivets throughout. Quartered, slightly cropped sleeve. It is absolutely phenomenal, and this color is very rare.
