Description: Crinum asiaticum, commonly known as the Giant Crinum Lily, is a striking perennial plant known for its impressive size and beautiful, fragrant flowers. This tropical plant features large, strap-like leaves and tall flower stalks that add a dramatic touch to any garden or landscape.

Flowers: The flowers of Crinum asiaticum are large, showy, and fragrant, typically white with a hint of pink. They are arranged in clusters atop tall, sturdy stems that can reach up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) in height. The flowers bloom in the summer and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Foliage: The foliage consists of long, strap-like leaves that are bright green and can grow up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) in length. The leaves form a dense rosette at the base of the plant, creating a lush, tropical appearance.

Form and Size: Crinum asiaticum has a robust, clumping growth habit, typically reaching up to 1.5-2 meters (5-6.5 feet) in height and spread. Its large size and dramatic form make it an excellent choice for adding height and structure to garden beds and borders.

Growing Conditions:

  • Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade. It thrives in bright light but can tolerate some shade, especially in hotter climates.
  • Soil: Well-draining, fertile soil rich in organic matter. It can tolerate a range of soil types, including sandy and loamy soils.
  • Water: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the growing season. Ensure good drainage to prevent waterlogging. Once established, it can tolerate some drought.
  • Temperature: Thrives in warm, tropical to subtropical climates. Hardy in USDA zones 9-11. Protect from frost and cold temperatures.
  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity levels. Regular misting or placement near a humidity tray can help maintain the necessary moisture in the air.

Uses: Crinum asiaticum is primarily grown for its ornamental value. It makes a stunning focal point in garden beds, borders, and large containers. The plant's large, fragrant flowers and lush foliage create a tropical feel, making it ideal for themed gardens and landscapes. It also makes a striking addition to water gardens and can be planted near ponds and streams.

Maintenance: This plant requires moderate maintenance. Regular watering and fertilization during the growing season will promote healthy growth. Prune away any dead or damaged leaves to maintain its appearance. Mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.

Notes: Crinum asiaticum is toxic if ingested, so it should be kept out of reach of pets and children. Handle the plant with care, as the sap can cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals. It is relatively pest-resistant but may occasionally attract snails and slugs, which can be managed with appropriate control measures.

Companion Plants: Crinum asiaticum pairs well with other tropical and subtropical plants that have similar growing requirements, such as:

  • Canna Lily (Canna indica)
  • Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia reginae)
  • Elephant Ear (Colocasia esculenta)
  • Heliconia species

Common Name: Giant Crinum Lily

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.
