The Pattern Facilitation Deck is a physical card deck and workshop companion to Designing Thriving Communities: A Rural Pattern Language. It is designed for people who want to bring the 50 rural patterns into real conversations, gatherings, planning sessions, and community workshops.
Each card introduces a pattern that helps communities explore practical responses to rural challenges - from building trust and strengthening local leadership to creating gathering places, supporting young people, growing local economies, and designing shared action. The deck gives groups a hands-on way to see the patterns, talk through what matters, and choose where to begin.
The deck includes the 50 pattern cards along with instructions for facilitating conversations around different topics in rural communities. It helps facilitators guide values-based reflection, invite multiple perspectives, and support groups as they identify which patterns fit their local context.
The Pattern Facilitation Deck can be used on its own around a kitchen table, in a classroom, at a community meeting, or as part of a larger workshop. It also connects with PAL, the Pattern Language AI Agent, through ruralpatternlanguage.com. After a group identifies patterns that feel relevant, PAL can help turn those choices into deeper playbooks.
You do not need to be a professional facilitator to use this deck. You just need to care about your community and be willing to create a space where people can name what matters, choose what comes next, and begin.

Good For Deep Sinks

This item is very sturdy however the piece on the outside that holds your rag tends to slip or lay flat all the time. The adhesive is very strong to the point where I needed to use a tool to get it off while moving, so you’ll never have to worry about it popping off your sink! I can only figure that this fits in all sinks because at my old apartment I had a very small sink the only thing I didn’t like due to having a small sink my rag was always touching the bottom of the sink and there wasn’t any space left in the side I had it on. If you have a big sink I’d suggest this item because it looks nice and it gives your wash cloth and sponge a home in the kitchen!

Aesthetically pleasing to the eye

This product is a good organizer for the song it serves its purpose. However I wish the tray that catches the water would stay in place. It is constantly moving and doesn’t always tilt to allow the water to flow down properly. The quality of the basket is good. It is easy to keep clean. It was super easy to assemble did not require any special tools. So far so good it is withstanding being wet all the time and I do not see any rust or deterioration or fading of the color in the two months I’ve had it. This sink organizer is modern and adds a nice aesthetic to my kitchen.
