Takemine Deba Knife

The Deba is a traditional Japanese knife designed for processing fish, featuring a thick blade suitable for cutting around bones. The black area on the blade is a black rust finish. This finish forms a stable oxide layer on the steel surface to help suppress red rust while giving the blade a calm black appearance. The rugged black blade and the polished silver edge create a strong contrast and a tool-like presence. The look of the black rust area will gradually change with use, which is part of the appeal of carbon steel. Since this is not a new knife treated for black rust, the black coloration may be uneven, which can also be enjoyed as character.

This knife features a single-beveled carbon steel blade known for its sharp cutting performance.

Professionally sharpened and ready to use. Sharpening service is included in the price. Please handle with care when unpacking.

Great for semi-experienced looking to build on knowledge.
Format: Paperback
Fantastic instructional manual if you already have some basic knowledge of anchors, ropework and climbing technique. It is written as an instructional manual for climbers looking to turn into guides so if you're brand new this probably isn't the best option for you.

Clear, straight forward, and authoritative
Format: Paperback
Excellent, straightforward information about how to stay safe at the crag. Every guy who's put his hand on a rock has an opinion about how to set anchors, belay, etc -- this book gives you the answers on how to do things the right way. Spend the 10 or 15 bucks and read the book. It might save your life.
