Besonderheiten: Diese limitierte Abfüllung aus der "Icons of Campbeltown"-Serie ehrt die mystische Gestalt des "Wulver" aus der lokalen Folklore. Der 12 Jahre alte Single Malt wurde zunächst in First-Fill-Bourbonfässern gereift und anschließend für neun Monate in First-Fill-Tawny-Portfässern veredelt. Abgefüllt in Fassstärke mit 51,7% Vol., ohne Kühlfiltration und ohne Farbstoff, präsentiert sich dieser Whisky in natürlicher Farbe und voller Aromenvielfalt.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Reife rote Früchte, dunkle Waldbeeren und feine Portweinsüße, unterlegt mit einem Hauch maritimer Frische.
  • Gaumen: Saftige dunkle Früchte, samtige Schokolade, cremiges Karamell und feine Holzwürze aus dem Tawny Port.
  • Abgang: Lang, wärmend und komplex – Frucht, Portwein und eine salzige Küstenbrise im Nachhall.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Glen Scotia ist eine der wenigen noch aktiven Brennereien in der einstigen Whisky-Metropole Campbeltown. Die Brennerei wurde 1832 gegründet und hat eine bewegte Geschichte mit mehreren Schließungen und Wiedereröffnungen. Heute gehört sie zur Loch Lomond Group und produziert eine Vielzahl von Single Malts, die für ihre Qualität und Authentizität bekannt sind.
