Das Jahr 1148, mitten im mittelalterlichen Europa: Barden ziehen durch die Lande und tragen mit viel Gefühl und Dramatik diverse Stücke vor. Häufig sind es Erzählungen bestimmter Ereignisse oder die musikalische Darstellung von Legenden. Auch unser Barde Johann ist ein solch fahrender Musikus. Ursprünglich als Minnesänger unterwegs, der den Hofdamen mit seinen Darbietungen den Kopf verdrehte und dafür letztendlich bei dem Adligen Willibald von der Hohensbrück in Ungnade gefallen war, musste er danach die Flucht antreten und änderte seine Ausrichtung. Seitdem ist er unterwegs auf Märkten und in den Straßen größerer Städte, um, verpackt in musikalische Gedichte, den Lebenswandel der dem Volk abgewandten Adligen zu kritisieren und das Volk gleichzeitig mit wunderbaren Geschichten, vorgetragen mit seiner Stimme & seiner Knickhalslaute, zu motivieren. Denn ohne Worte und Wissen (die wenigsten Menschen damals konnten lesen und sich so Wissen anhäufen, geschweige denn vom Zugang zu Geschriebenem) ist es nicht möglich, effektiv zu hinterfragen. Am almost done reading

This book came recommended by a very hospitable friend. I'm almost done reading and wanted to drop by here to leave a positive review.
Lots of good useful ideas in this book and it has an engaging writing style. I think the author is specifically gifted in the area of hospitality - not everyone can live like she and her family do, but there are a lot of practical tips if you're hoping to grow in that area of your life.

Hospitality is the Most Important Thing
Format: Hardcover
The author does an excellent job making a case for how important and underrated hospitality is to a hurting world. She captures my attention instantly with her story about her neighbor Hank. She leaves me hanging through a couple of chapters before I get more details about his story.
I almost put down the book permanently when she gets on her high religious horse. I suspect she and I would disagree about some of our theology. And I didn't need to be persuaded, so those chapters weren't written for me. If you skim (or skip) that beginning section, it's well worth the practical ideas for how to open up your own home and life in hospitality.
A great challenge that I shall take up. May all our neighbors become friends and our friends become family.

Didn't Notice Difference
The taste is actually pretty good, honestly it's more like a treat than a supplement... but I haven't noticed any significant changes after going through the entire bottle. They didn't cause any upset stomach or side effects, which is a plus, but the overall benefits feel negligible.
