Heinrich Campendonks (1889-1957) Werke aus seiner Zeit als jüngster Künstler im Kreis des von Wassily Kandinsky und Franz Marc gegründeten "Blauen Reiter" sind weltweit bekannt und hochgeschätzt. Doch neben dieser eindrucksvollen malerischen Schaffensphase schuf der Künstler ein Œuvre, das sich durch eine überraschende Vielfalt an künstlerischen Gattungen auszeichnet. Er entwarf Bühnenbilder, dekorierte Möbel und gestaltete Textilien sowie Plakate. Die Ausstellung im Gustav-Lübcke-Museum setzt diese kunstgewerblichen Arbeiten erstmals in den Kontext seines expressionistischen malerischen Werkes und öffnet damit Blicke auf die tiefgehende Verbindung von Kunst und Leben. Entscheidende Impulse für die eigene künstlerische Arbeit erhielt Campendonk durch seine Künstlerfreundschaften zu bedeutenden Vertretern der Avantgarde, wie Paul Klee, Helmuth und August Macke, Heinrich Nauen oder zu seinem Lehrer Johan Thorn Prikker. Wie er selbst standen viele von ihnen mit dem 1907 gegründeten Deutschen Werkbund in Verbindung. Mit präzise ausgewählten Arbeiten dieser Freunde, Mentoren und Wegbegleiter dokumentieren und würdigen die Ausstellung sowie der begleitend erscheinende Katalog eine bisher wenig beachtete Moderne um Heinrich Campendonk.

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
