Die Kellerei Girlan wurde 1923 von 24 Weinbauern gegründet, heute sind es rund 200 Winzerfamilien, die circa 230 Hektar Weinbaufläche in den besten Lagen des Überetsch und Unterlandes bewirtschaften. Ab 2024 wird die Kellerei Girlan dank einer sehr klaren und sorgfältigen Entscheidung noch umweltfreundlicher. Ab der ersten Abfüllung des Jahrgangs 2023 werden alle Produktionslinien auf 410 Gramm Flaschen umgestellt, wodurch die CO2-emissionen in die Umwelt entscheidend reduziert werden.

Region

Die Weinberge liegen auf einer Höhe zwischen 340 und 510 Metern ü.d.M., sind sonnig und weisen ein besonderes Mikroklima auf. Je nach Ausrichtung (Ost, West) sind die Weinberge kühler oder wärmer, und geben ideale Voraussetzungen für eine breite Palette an Traubensorten. Leichte Winde wehen zu verschiedenen Tageszeiten und belüften die Weinberge.
